Subject: RE: source for armrest switches

Pittsburg, Kansas

www.wayteckwire.com was what someone posted a while back. If you are in a hurry you can get an JD8000 tractor air conditioner switch (with the cluster of gages by the right side window) that pops into the hole and works good - it will just have the little snowflake on the switch if that bothers you. They are SPST (single pole single throw).

If you have more than one piece of equipment to be switched at a time you can also order double pole single throw (two seperate switches in one package that switch together). When we order switches this is what we get then only use one set of contacts if we only need to control one thing but have the option there to controll something else if needed (like an air cart switch, Outback 360, Raven controller, etc.). We permanently run wires down & out of the armrest and terminate them in a two pole trailer connector. Then we use the mating connector to connect the remote switch feature for Raven controller, air cart switch, etc.

Can also get switches that light up when in the on position - could be handy but I have never used them.

Even devices not set up to use a remote switch can use this switch by simply putting it in line (series) and leave the factory switch left in the on position (as long as this switch doesnt controll acres or something else important). If you do this make sure the hot wire coming from the device is the wire in the trailer plug that is protected when unplugged or could accidentally have a "hot" wire laying around in the cab exposed when unhooked from the plug.

More information than you ask for.

John
