You are using critical thinking.
That is why anyone who actually reads the bible without making excuses for what it says realizes that a lot of what is in it are just not true stories but pure fiction.
A loving god who calls for the deaths of so many even after the flood like killing all the Canaanites except for the women who were virgins which they could keep for slaves.
