Lewisburg, PA
Jordan,
A buddy of mine just bought that book and said he hasn't been able to put it down. You want to watch something else look up Allan Savory on you tube.

Answers to some of your questions. Looking at some pics over in market talk about the dust storms just sends shivers up my spine. Here in central pa we have been notilling for 25 years and solved some of our erosion. We have been using rye cover for a while but for my years but we have been killing early and a lot of the residue would be gone till mid summer.. The more I have been learning about our soils the more I want to leave biggers covers and mix's of them that will FIX nutrients like you asked. Most notillers NOW kill everything early and then plant. I think we are just on the tip of learning how to grow crops in high residue covers.
The proper management of manure and covers is huge.
My farm started to move again from not letting enough cover on the soil since my soils have become so mellow, last year I planted green and had some really big covers and was very happy with the way my soils were working with the large covers.
