Subject: Re: Insight-AutoPilot how to set overlap

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Maybe I've missed something but I guess I don't understand the need for the overlap feature.

If I have a 29' field cultivator and I want 6" overlap on each side, I just setup the configuration for 28'. Since I will always want this same amount of overlap this causes no problem.

For my 12-30 planter, the width is 30' and I don't want any overlap so I setup the configuration for 30'.

This is the way I handle both the setup with my Insight running Autopilot and also another tractor with an EZ-Guide 500 running an Autopilot. I have never used the overlap feature.

What am I missing?

I have a pull type sprayer that I use with yet another tractor that doesn't have assisted steering but uses a Raven 500 Lightbar along with the Insight. The sprayer has 37 tips set on 20" which equals 740" or 60' + 10" extra on each end. I setup the configuration for the sprayer and lightbar for 60'. This does cause a slight amount of doubling but allows for some automatic overlap.
