Water in the desert runs like water off a ducks back . Hard rains fill all the draws with raging torrents of water . A little bit sinks in . After a light slow rain the desert blooms . Awesome sight . We flew in to Bicycle Lake in KC 135? back in the 60's to Camp Irwin . (Barstow area of CA)
It rained a bit the 2 weeks we were there . Lake bed bloomed in a few days .
