Subject: RE: 1206- loose sleeve

Grand Island, Nebraska
There are two oversize sleeves available through Case parts. One is .002 os and the other is .010 os. I strongly disagree about using any type of epoxy as it can insulate the sleeve from the block and won't allow the transfer of heat away from the sleeve. Also, make sure the new sleeve is installed correctly. The sleeve needs to be pressed in with a force of 300-1400 lbs. Also, the sleeve height has to be .040-.045 above the block. DO NOT seat the sleeve down to the square edge. If you do, it will crack and break off over time.
