When you power up the greenstar system it is best practice to go directly to the crank position and start the vehicle. Some vehicles while they are cranking to start have a drop in battery voltage. The starfire receiver will shut down when voltage gets too low to protect itself from problems with voltage fluctuations. The receiver has a constant power wire going to it so that it will keep tracking satellites even if the key is off if that option is selected. That helps you get a more accurate signal when you first start up. If while cranking the voltage gets low enough the receiver shuts down and when the tractor starts and voltage comes back up it turns back on and you lost any tracking information it had while the key was off. On some vehicles this is hard to avoid. Other times it could be that your batteries are starting to get weak or you have a bad connection at your batteries or some cables are getting bad.
