Nebraska aka the boondocks
I really don't know why some folks get so worked up about organic food. I don't know what they are threatened for. If you don't like it, then dont go to Whole Foods. I actually love the Whole Foods in Omaha, it is like heaven. They actually have produce that doesn't look like ####. They actually have a bakery, a wine bar, a coffe bar. You can actually buy "butter" there instead of "Country Crock." Not all the products in these stores are organic either. I fancy myself as someone always looking for the highest of quality, try finding prime grade beef just lying around in Nebraska. Sometimes it just so happens the highest quality is organic and sometimes it is not. However, what I have noticed is, just like with high end wines, the "smaller" operations seem to be the ones fulfilling the high end markets. Mass produced high volume organic is just like everything else. The fact is, a lot of the stuff put into foods is to "INCREASE SHELF LIFE," even for meats, if a certain segment of the population doesn't want preservatives in everything they eat, I really don't see the problem.
