Subject: Re: Soil-Max tile plow questions

Southern Illinois
Weight, weight, weight, the more you add the better you will pull it. It's not an issue of hp but a traction issue. I farm in the hills and hollows of Jackson Co and we have to hook the Dozer to the front quite often. We are currently using a stx375 with a full rack of weights on the front, rear and fluid in all four of the inside duals. We use a pull type gold digger stealth and like it. We also use a fmx screen and RTK setup from Trimble. After having both the GPS and laser systems, I would pick the GPS every time. The one problem we have had is that with the GPS if you have a tall treeline on the south side of where you are starting your runs the GPS does not like to pick up the signal from the sky. Without signal the plow will not work.
