Elderly friend gave me a craftsman air compressor, said it worked last time he used it couple yrs. ago. When I plug it in it throws breaker right away its 110, could this thing be wired for 220 and still have a 110 type plug? It says 110/240 on motor, if so how do you change wires and which ones over to 110? When I turn it on the motor run for about 2 sec. and kicks breaker, does`nt get hot either.

On a 110/240 motor I would say that you will need 20Amp to turn the motor. Are your using a 15Amp source?
