Wrong... A patch antenna is used by manufacturers today for one reason only... to price point. They cost about $15-20 to actually produce and that's about all they are worth. Obviously the reps you talked to know next to nothing about GPS therory or performance. I would take my business elswhere...

There is a reason that a helix antenna costs between $200 and 400 more, depending on manufacturer. It's because they are much more expensive to produce, but they are worth every penny. Whether you are buying Trimble, Raven or any other brand, you will not be dissapointed in purchasing the helix over the patch. Remember, accuracy costs $$$. Good luck!
