Subject: Re: 9500 unloading tank auger replacement

Leesburg, Ohio
I would highly recommend replacing it. Don't know about timing. We lost about a day and a half during '04 corn harvest to replace that auger. Splines wore out on verticle auger, took out splines in the angled gearbox between the verticle and horizontal augers. Son was at OSU at the time, and went to the Columbus Branch for us to get the parts...there were several others inline there waiting on the same auger. After we finally got parts, took the local JD tech about a half day to replace. Horizontal has to slide part way out to get to angled gear box. Verticle went in from bottom after moving return elevator out of the way. have since replaced all other augers in the same machine during winter service specials at JD shop. (1998 model 9410, ~1500 engine hours)
Good luck!
Ken
