| We went thru a similiar situation a few years back. Deputy in the county north of us pulled over 4 guys in a car from Chicago for having a light out & was shot in the face (luckily he lived). Cops chased them to about 3 miles from our house where they were finally able to get the cars tires blowed out using "punture sticks" The guys jumped out of the car & bolted for the woods that was close to the hwy.
In away it was kind of hilarious watching the cops search for them. You would hear of a reported sighting come across the scanner & about 20 cop cars would go flying by the house all in a line with lights & sirens going. Then another sighting somewhere else would come across and they all would go flying that way in a line. This went on all evening, all night, & into the next day. Two helicopters ran sweeps all night long. They eventually caught all of them within about a 1.5 miles of our house.
You can believe we had every firearm we owned out where we could get to it as wqell as the ammo for them. That night I put the dog downstairs & we stayed upstairs with the stairwaydoor closed. The dog raises he!! even if someone just comes onto the property so figured if they tried to break in he would let us know. I was in one bedroom with several guns & ammo on the bed & our son was in another bedroom similiarly equipped. If anybody would have opened the stairway door that would have been the end of them. | |
