We/my uncle grew malting barley for Busch last year and the year before. Needless to say we didn't this year. Beings it's a specialty crop for this area, it's a PITA to deliver yatta yatta yatta. Kind of like when we tried to grow navies.......it's a specialty market and the guys at the elevator know it and have you by the balls. It was neat learning about it though. Do you ever get "Vomotoxin" there? Seems like it was explained to me that the "thins" germinate before the good plump kernels do thus the reason we were encouraged to blow the thins out the back of the combine. | |
