My opinion is always try to get a mcnab cross. Not always easy to find but neither is living with a $hit head border collie that only wants to bait cows and head. My latest is 3yr old three way border, mcnab and Ozzie Tri color....a real looker. She heads heals and chases with a bark. Everyone says that is a bad thing. In my opinion it only demands attention, and she gets it. We feed lots of big cutting bulls thin butcher cows and everything in between. She is usually pure magic and the fastest dog I have ever been around. I've clocked her at 33mph. I don't care how fast your cows are she will out run them with stamina to last all day long. The story only gets better she hunts dove and duck with the best retrievers. One of those once in a lifetime dogs, and she is great with the kids. I think it's some fairly reproducible traits with a minimum of 1/4 mcnab. Simply amazing dogs. Not my first only my best.
