Subject: RE: Farming alone, Getting back to Base

I don't farm alone but some days if feels like I do and other days I wish I did. I have a Suzuki Samuria with a tow bar on the front and my brother bought a Geo Tracker this spring that will get a tow bar before fall. I've built a hitch on the back of our grain cart and one for our head trailer so in the fall I can pull the Samuria to the field behind the head trailer, help get the head on the combine and then run the Samuria back to get the grain cart and when dad gets to the field with a wagon he can take the Samuria and pull it back behind the other wagon. The tow bar gets used the most during the fall but we use it pretty much year around and it has paid for itself plus the Samuria in time savings alone let alone the fuel savings.
