I believe the ones we have on our 1083 are Mae-Wes as we bought them thru our CIH dealer. They have the poly skids which I think would be better than just steel.

What combine do you run your 1083 on and what's the tire size? When we had the 1083 on our 2366 the tires (30.5s) ran in the middle of the rows & we didn't need the stompers. The 2388 we bought last year has the floater tires & they run on the 2nd & 7th row which is why we added the stalk stompers. One benifit that we discovered this spring is that with our sprayer (60' boom) the mashed rows are a good guide to follow. Most times I don't even watch the lightbar or use any foam when turning, just line up on the mashed rows and go
