Simple question - when you turn the steering wheel doing those operations in those soil conditions (disked ground) - does the tractor steer or does it plow? If it is slow reacting to the steering, you probably do need 4 wd!
Ask your neighbours that are using GPS hands free steering about how they would handle 2wd vs 4wd.
