Subject: RE: Question for Illinois corn on corn growers or..........

Last year in Northern Ill, we had very little moisture. the rw corn really stood up, and the conventionals really hurt. AFTER harvest one guy dug up some roots of conventional corn w/ insecticide and still found granuls. I know it's hard to believe but I saw them and you know if they never disolved it would be hard to control the bugs! I realize this is extreme but after last year there was very little non rw corn planted this year(exept the refuge). no one wanted to put out the $ for insecticide and have another failure. at least if you plant the rw corn you know you will have control. I doubt that there is much difference between the 2 different events (yieldgaurd and hurculex) in control and maybe the thing to do is rotate between them but last year made a believer out of me.
