Subject: RE: USB PORTS & TRIMBLE AUTOPILOT

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I wanted to make certain that I could communicate with a Trimble Nav II and other situations so I bought a used IBM laptop rather than a new one. The used Thinkpad 30 has a true serial port and ran under Windows XP. Both of these features were desirable to me.

Other than having to recharge the battery quite often, I'm happy with my choice.

Most new laptops do not have a true serial port. The USB adapter/convertors work in some cases but not all.
