north central Oklahoma | Even at current prices, we still have the cheapest and safest food in the world. If we allow the blame to be laid in the producer's lap for a $12 happy meal, prices of commodities will likely head down, but the $12 will stick. They know how to play the game better than we do. The task of protecting our prices by keeping the populace informed about how little raw commodity prices actually affect the finished product price is where those few pennies of taxes levied on our grain should be spent. If they fail there, we all need to file for our taxes back at the point of sale. No sense in providing a bunch of lazy stiffs a lavish lifestyle. | |
