NE SD | Brian,
We are going through the same issues as you right now. Everything is plumbed and the sprayer can be filled in about 3 minutes...........problem is that the Rup takes about 10+ minutes to pump into the cone. I don't know how much Rup you're using, but usually we have to pump 27+ gallons at a time. Those little pumps are not only slow, they are unreliable. We use the "Shuttle 250" tanks provided by the local fert. store.
Co-op uses air from the brakes to pressurize their minibulks and push material out through a 1 1/2" line and meter into the cone. They said it takes only a couple minutes to push it that way. Looking at the shuttles, they are only rated for 15-20 PSI, but that much pressure through 1 1/2" should move fairly fast. They have just a "dip tube" that they put in the shuttle. I was half way tempted to just invest in a good meter, run that 1 1/2" line right into the suction line where our cone is, and pull through the meter. If you restricted water before it, it would move rather fast. | |
