Subject: Re: Detroit 12.7 430-470 engines

Ontario Canada
Dealer was quite sure that i should drop the air out of the bags, it would be nice not to, he also told us that in comparison our 400 Cat would walk away from the Detroit, fact or fiction we are not sure yet. What should top rpm be? 2100 rpm? Dealer feels it is set at 1450 or 1550 lbs torque, must be similar to Cat which i thought was 1550 torque rating. I am hoping that the T600 will turn shorter then our Freightliner, thought our FLD 120 turned well. Will hauling heavier loads wear out the air ride system quicker then what our Freightliner and what parts wear out on the Kenworth? What is the charge to polish aluminum rims if they are not too oxidized and are already off the truck? I am going to try posting a picture of the truck before the bodyshop does the frame and cab, again thanks for all the replies and help.
