Subject: Feeding DDG

Eastern Kansas
How much DDG are you guys feeding? I've fed it for about 4 yrs. and it's up to $200/ton here and will get higher in February. I feed it on the ground much like range cubes. I was also wondering if it comes out of a cube feeder very well as I use buckets now? What I get has 28% protein analysis, same energy value as corn acredited to the fiber content.

I feed hay about 7%-8% protein and about 4 lb./hd./day ddg to growing calves and 3rd stage cows. Didn't hurt so much when it was $100/ton couple yrs ago, and calves were selling better.

What is everyone else doing?
By the way, I feed it to my meat goats too.

Greg
