Subject: Re: KW T800's & Cummins N14's

south Texas , York Rife Freemason
we run series 60"s at work , we did run the m-11 cummins and n-14 years ago .the early model isx cummins had some poor quality block issues (i think it was porosity (sp) or just a bad batch of cast .the company quit cummins in "99 and went with all FL centurys with series 60's .we recently went back to a navistar 9400i with an isx cummins .at this point i guess we have 5-700 of them .the n-14 cummins is a decendant of the 855 cummins and is a very good engine ,i hated the L-10 ,M-11 and early isx cummins .we will see how the new isx works out ,we dont have one at 100k miles yet . and i suspect the older cummins isx engines had a block replacement before now ,most of them did not make 400k miles . so atleast most of you know why i did not like cummins.
