Hay Wilson in TX
Posted 7/3/2006 11:57 (#23734)
Subject: Definitive work on Urea for pasture and hay.

Little River, TX
From the July Kentucky Forage News letter.

Kentucky did a 5 year study on top dressing nitrogen. With Agrotain from Agrotain International, they had 99% of the production of grass as they did using Ammonium Nitrate.

The key is when damp Urea [(NH2)2CO] reacts with the water and forms Ammonium carbonate [(NH4)2CO3] which is unstable and some reverts to free ammonium and CO2.

I need to learn how to change font size and a few other tricks!
