That looks like pretty close to where Deere is at. I have thought about making a bracket like you have but maybe going a foot or so further to the front of the tractor. The bracket would have to be a little stouter than if it were just in front of the cab. We have had good luck with the Outbacks on the nose. I have often wondered if it wouldn't be better to have it on a pedestal up there up somewhere just above eye sight. The lower hood mounting sure helps on the roll of terraces but I can see where it might interfere with satelite reception or cause some multipath. I suspect ground location in relationship to the satelites could cause one area to work on the hood and not in another.
