Subject: MT Antenna location rethought

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

Well, in the real world, the new "Improved?" EZ-Guide antenna location I posted about here didn't work so well.

Although it was very quick to come to the line, I had problems with high HDOP and low numbers of satellites when I was headed south. Unless one stops and thinks about it, southing paths would seem the least likely to give problems but that was where the problems showed up for me.

The high HDOP made for errors in where the thing thought it was and it really proved to not be a good thing when the tractor was aggressive in homing to a line that wasn't correct. When I moved the antenna back to the top, forward edge of the cab, accuracy became much better.

I'm going to chalk this up to the category of "If you don't try, you don't learn." Frown
