Sunnyvale, CA
the 9 pin connector on the EZ-Guide 500 has the same pinout as a COM port on a PC. Usually the sex of the pins tell you if you need a straight through or a null modem connection. If you are connecting to another male connector, the probability is high that you will need a null modem F-F cable. If the connection is to a F connector, then a straight through M-F cable wouild be used. If the equipment you are connecting to has a non-standard wiring, then you might need to experiment with the null modem connection. When connectiing to COM ports on new equipment, I usually have handy gender menders and null modem adapters to speed up the process.
