Subject: RE: Value of the US Dollar

Hutchinson, MN
I stand corrected msb, my thoughts about uncharted waters was that our economy wasn't near the big machine it is now when it's happened in the past. Was the continental bill ever on a silver standard or something similar? The service industry is such a huge part of our countries economy, that didn't even exist in civil war times. Also, the communications industry that provides us almost instant communication around the world. International trade I don't think went on at the level it does today either. My thoughts are a little more scattered than my original post, Ed hinted at how the thinking sometimes gets scary.
