Subject: Cotton

Central Texas
I have asked this question on other ag forums but have received little to no response.
Being the stubborn, hardheaded Kraut that I am, I will ask it again over here:

I am long July and Dec cotton. It is breaking out (for all of you chartist). How high
does cotton need to rise to "buy acres" for itself? The fundamentals are completely
different in cotton in that there is plenty now but I cannot see anyone in their right
mind planting it with competing grains at these levels. There are certainly areas that all
they can plant is cotton and I understand they will but cotton will surely lose acres
where other crops can be planted, no?

And if we get a weather market over Lubbock this summer... to the moon, Alice!

Thanks for any response.
