Subject: Wilted Corn

Martinsville, Ohio

I just got called to a field of wilting non GMO corn, beautiful stand, 2 weeks old.  No chemical, last chemical was Harmony(Pinnacle), Valor and FlexStar last July on non GMO soybeans.

Roots are pruned and some bottle brushing but a good 5 roots each 6 inches long under the wilting plants.   Seed is healthy and intact, the coleoptile might be a little shrunken from coming through the soil, could be some chemical damage, but that long ago?  We've had 16 inches or more since Jan 1 but it has been cool.

Do we tear it up and plant beans or watch how many die?  They look healthy yet wilting, white stripe in midvein on many plants.

Looks like pythium damping off but there is more too it than that.

Thank you,
