I hear you on the computer power. I just got a Dual core at 2.2 GHZ with 4 MB of Ram and brought in a county SSURGO spatial map (soil type) that had 2 million acres in it. I clipped to the fields in SMS and was pleasantly surprised it didn't lock up. It took about a minute and a half.
