Subject: What Mkts Support $5-6+ Corn?

As the knowledgeable Senior Caitizen has said/implied, what industry can continually pay higher prices for grains, without having their own prices rise significantly. Go to Market-to-Market http://www.iptv.org/mtom/ and Doug Jackson and Walt Hackney, two top grain and livestock commentators, talk about how high/bad things may get and some ramnifications.

Just as SC has pointed out to watch on egg sets, sow slaughter, and cow slaughter, when they back away from the grain bin, there will be a long lag factor and also a reprocution factor on corn demand. One poster talked about the sale barns staying open later because of all the cows going to slaughter. Maybe the price sqeeze has already started to take its toll.

When Mama goes to the grocery store and everything from bread to Wheaties to hamburger is up by a large %, she aint going to be happy. And as we all know----When Mama aint happy, Aint nobody happy. She could be the one who changes Washington.

I think that we will still have a wild ride ahead of us, but I think the roller coaster may be not as long (2-3 years+) as some believe. If we lost some of our feed or biofuel demand, our useage numbers could change greatly. If a major weather problem happens, Katie bar the door. That could be life altering. We've seen it before, 1 bu too much-down $1.00, 1 bu. too little-up $.50. Now it appears we are shorter than just 1 bu., but for how long?
