southern MN | Few years ago al the livestock folks were chuckling, that they could buy grains cheaper than cost of production, why would they ever be interestedin growing there own when silly grain producers would give it away.....

Here's the problem with putting floors in markets. It makes for a sure thing, big companies can put a pencil to it. No more big price swings, so the little fella that was doing it his way has no highs to aim for, no risk to ride out. Prices just fall to lowest possible flat line. It hastens the big players taking over the industry.
Not sure that is what most cattlemen really want?
