EXACTLY my situation as well. I am of the opinion quite a number of people including farmers from "back east" don't know about or understand the concept of "summerfallow" whether that is conventional tillage or "chem fallow". Lots around me trying continuous cropping and it has its place around mountain ranges, high water table areas, etc. But generally speaking with the change in climate, meaning not only less moisture but HIGHER temps, continuous cropping in the Northern High Plains is at best a crop insurance deal every year. Just because you seed a crop doesnt automatically mean it will produce a crop.
