Subject: Cheap food debate coming soon...

NC IA
I agree, we will see the cheap food debate in the very near future. Some politician will start the wave. The public will jump on board. Joe Public Suburban city dweller will realize he cares more about cheap food than being "green." As far as choosing between "consumer stuff" and food, food will be demanded cheap long before the "consumer stuff" gets given up. Joe Public thinks that's the American Way, to be entitled to a boat, 4 SUVs, sat tv, cell phones for all the kids, twice the house than he can afford, and a cart full of wal-mart goodies every visit other than food. Cheap food is taken for granted and when the cry comes it wont be pretty. Farmers do not give city folk that warm fuzzy feeling anymore, farmers are now/soon to be viewed too successful/profitable, like Big Oil, it will be Big Corn.

Farmers, food production, and the ag industry as a whole will soon be a political target. Wait and see.
