| Another thought we have been kicking around is turning all of our corn acres for this coming season to beans for 09-10. We are going 90/10 corn/beans as of right now (everything is already on). If Nov09 beans hit $13 (about $1 from here), I think it would be a good time to price about 40bu/acre right across the board. (Throw an out of the money call on there for under $1 you still have $12+ beans with a possibility of a larger return if this crazy ride continues in the two years to come - piece of mind if it doesn't. Minimal inputs in regards to seed, chemicals, and fuel. My guess would be under $100 per acre inputs by doing everything (excluding land costs).
(Heck of a lot easier and cheaper than handling, drying, and hauling all this corn) -
Anyone else thinking the same thing?
