West central Iowa is bone dry. Less than an inch in the last 2 months. The thinner spots are just about gone. That said, I'm amazed that the corn looks as good as it does. I'm afraid we're using up anything we had to grow a stalk and there won't be anything left for an ear shoot and pollenation. With no subsoil moisture,we're about one hot week from a disaster. Beans still look OK since they haven't used much moisture yet,but their big growth time is the next 3 weeks.
