Aberdeen MS | Another core won't hurt anything and would be a good idea.
When the truck was spec'd for whoever ordered it, the concept was the majority of time going through the air at around 60 MPH with minimal time at low RPM and full pull. Hauling grain at this time of year is high heat, more "full pulling" than the truck was probably spec'd for.
On the flip side tho, at least on mine, I can run the fan at will. So it may be a moot point.
What I would do tho, price out the HD core vs direct replacement and what a "mountain fan" would run. Normally there are around 3 different pitches that can be had for a fan, at least it USED to be that way (I've been away from the industry for 15 yrs now). If you have a switchable fan clutch, it may be a better route to change out the fan while the radiator isn't in the way.
For the hauling I do, I'd go the fan route, but that's just me. And with your "short" time, might be the only option for you.
