WC Saskatchewan | As in laying on their side?

SW Indiana | Yes. But only on one side. Pump must be on the bottom. Wont work the other way as pump wont pick up enough oil.

SW Minnesota | As long as the pump is on the bottom, it should work fine.

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | The first wagon hoists that we had on the farm used bottle jacks. The bottle jack laid sideways and pushed against an "X" frame that raised the box. The "X" increased the range of the bottle jack tremendously but of course multiplied the load on the jack. These sort of worked but were really hard on the jacks. Dad got rid of them and went with a true hydraulic lift which was a tremendous improvement. This was about 60 years ago.

WC Saskatchewan | Thanks guys, need to press out a pin on a landroller.

West Tennessee | Yes what everyone else said. They work with the pump down. I found this out a few years back when i had to use one against he service truck bumper as a frame straightener on a grain head. :-( Bad memories.

Yep as long as pump is on low side to pump the oil. Use a bottle jack to pop off band type duals all the time. Usually set the jack in place screw the top out to make it snug and a few pumps and they pop right off. Need to make sure you catch the dual so it does not come down on top of you though.

Faunsdale, AL | Be careful. Hydraulic press, expecially one you rig up in place can be dangerous. Last one we did with a 20 ton jack and some all thread rod resulted in a knee injury when it "popped" to one side a couple inches. Guy's knee was in range when it went.

Ohio | Yep we use one on its side every year to take the snap on duals off the 4650.

Just a question for the guys using them on the duals, are they Unverferth "T" Rail type ? just wondered if you ever tried threading the hook out of the binder latch a few turns, and then use a pipe on the handle and lift up to leverage the duals off... not trying to be smart or tell ya what to do, but this works pretty slick, I usually put the drive wheel up on a 2 x 6 to just get dual off the ground....

Yes T rail duals but I have threaded J bolts and eye hooks not the over center type binders. Inner wheel is driven up on a plank. Loosen and remove J bolts and clamps on T rail. Place jack against inner wheel unscrew top of jack until snug against T rail. A few pumps on jack handle and it pushes dual right off.
