Subject: John Deere 4700 Air Bag replacement - easy

Middlesex County - ON
Finally, after some time on here of hearing about aftermarket air bags that you don't have to order through Deere and pay $600+ for, we have found some real information. Firestone part number: W01-358-8931 Website for a company out of Michigan is www.truckspring.com or you can click on this link to go directly to the part page which gives the entire specs on the par: http://www.truckspring.com/products/Firestone-Reversible-Sleeve-Air...

Simple NAT directions for changing out an air bag (on a 4700 sprayer):

STEP 1: Fill bag up until you only have a few inches left on the top of the piston stroke.

STEP 2: Block up the piston from the bottom side (use something significant, not just a 2x4 - 6" 3/4 drive extension, or angle iron will work)

STEP 3: Remove the bottom 4 bolts from the air bag. Don't worry, it's not going to go anywhere.

STEP 4: Completely remove the valve stem core, and as the air depletes the bag will lift up from the bottom frame.

STEP 5: Remove the last two nuts from the top side of the airbag (air valve and stud).

STEP 6: Replace with new bag and reverse the steps.

Couldn't have done this without past NAT posts. Thanks guys!
