| I am attempting to install a new sickle on a JD 220 platform. Also new guards, wear plates, old down clips. I have it all on but the thing is bound tighter than tight. Only sickle I ever installed was on a 7ft JD 450 sickle mower and I don't recall having any problems with it.
I thought at first it was because I had it on the head cart which made the head flex a bit as the support was uneven but now even after I picked it up with the combine I can barely move it by turning the wobble box pulley.
I have tried loosing some key holddowns but it seems some places it binds on top-others on the bottom. I don't think it is warped or anything as it is a brand new sickle.
I am getting really frustrated. Does anyone have any tips for installing a sickle on those heads? | |
