Subject: RE: JD 328 BALER

Don't make the same mistake I did when I bought a used NH 565. The 565 is the economy equivalent of the JD 328. My main complaint is that the pickup only has 4 bars and it is narrower than the larger models. I've not found any hay that I couldn't bale but straw can give it a fit. I have to rake the windrow behind a JD 9600 combine to get it to fit in the pickup and I can't go slow enough to handle all of the straw from a 22 ft head unless it is cut up off of the ground. My NH dealer said they sell mostly 575s because they don't cost that much more than the smaller balers when new. My next baler will be a JD 348 or a NH 575 as I'd rather have the capacity and not need it than need the capacity and not need it.
