Subject: Antenna Mount

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

Hi Greg, Had the antenna on the hood for a while as I was concerned about height before I upgraded to T2. Had some issues with hood mounting on northing passes as the cab blocked too many of the lower birds at times. When I upgraded to the T2, I no longer had to be concerned about height but still liked the idea of a forward mounted antenna.

Had some 1" EMT laying in the spare parts repository, so I cut it up and welded it into something a bit more useful.

 Mounting Bracket

Didn't really want to weld it to the square crosspiece so a cushioned zip-tie attachment-- although it has a bit of a Smokey Stover look to it; reduces the chances of breakage from welding stresses. I do have some S.S. zip-ties that I intend to replace the nylon ones with.

Crosspiece

I wanted to reduce weight and subsequent bounce as much as possible so I direct mounted the dome with a screw instead of using the magnet here.
