Subject: Question about Trimble Autopilot

Eastern Iowa
When using an Autopliot system on a tractor, is it manditory that a Trimble or Ag Leader GPS receiver be used? We are currently using a Trimble 252, NavII controller, Trimble valve block, and an Insight, running on the Omnistar correction signal. My question is, can you use any RTK enabled GPS receiver to feed your correction signal into the NavII or does it have to be brand specific? I guess more specifically I am asking, is the NavII looking for a specific data protocal (TSIP, RTCM, CMR, NMEA....) outputted only by a Trimble or Ag Leader GPS or is it open to different protocalls?
