Subject: RE: Using SF1 for planting?

If I were you I'd make sure I had a receiver that could be upgraded to sf2 easily and start out with sf1. Each unit has a certain number of hours of "demo" built in where you can try it. For us the sf1 wandered too much. I know another poster said it was mainly the repeatability, but sf1 does allow your tractor to wander more than sf2. When we demo'd the sf2 it was easy to see that it tightened up the response and kept it on line better.

One of the things we really like about using the sf2 when we're planting or working ground is being able to skip around and plant out odd shaped fields without starting on one side and moving across like you would have to with markers. With sf1 most of the time it would not stay put long enough to hop and skip and then come back to finish up. With sf2 for us we found that if we got back within a couple hours it was normally still right on track.
