Subject: Using SF1 for planting?

Chancellor, SD
I did a search on here looking for opinions on using SF1 for planting. Most of the results I got were from 2006. People were pretty divided on whether it worked on not. My question is now that another season has passed....what do you think about it now? One dealer we talked to said SF2 only for planting while another dealer really encouraged using SF1. Said everyone in his area that was using it really thought it did a good job. Plus he mentioned if it just didn't work out, you are only one phone call, a couple minutes, and some $$$ away from SF2. Well we would use it to plant with a 12 row 30" planter. Have a 6 row head for the combine, so if the guess rows have a slight variance that will not be such a big deal. A neighbor we talked to used SF2 and said that works great...just wondering if it is worth it to try and save some $$ going with SF1.
