Subject: RE: New Case-IH

I will say that it is going to be hard to go from a John Deere to a Case. I have always run Deere tractors, and I bought an MX 285 last year, thinking I could get a bigger tractor for the same price as a size smaller Deere. As Larry said, the climate control never worked. I could not stand the hydraulic remotes not going back to neutral after you raise the plow. In 600 hours, I had to replace the water pump, steering pump, hydraulic vent, and had a daily antifreeze leak. The tractor did pull well, and seemed to be decent on fuel consumption, but it always seemed awkward to drive and work on. Everything on it seemed to be cheap. My Case experiment lasted one year. I traded it in on a new 8230 ivt, and couldn't be happier.
