Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | Been there, done that. A totally discharged battery that is lucky enough not to short from all the swelling, shifting of the plates during a total discharge/recharge,seems to have enough sulfation damage to never fully recover. One trick that has worked for me is to put such a battery on a desulphator/charger for a week, which seems to give a 99% recovery. Ed Boyson posted plans to build a desulphator one time, or Northern tool co sells a unit called a battery MINDer. I use two of these battery MINDer desulphator/charger units on all my equipment batteries every other month during the off season, and on occasion, to restore one of those victims of a days long total discharge.
